There are a few cities in Canada that have a reputation of having a high cost of living, and Toronto is one of them. There are definitely lots of gorgeous neighborhoods from which to choose to live in. Something that may come as a surprise to you though, is that not all of the most beautiful neighborhoods are the most expensive. What could Toronto offer you?

Of course if you're looking for an economical starter home, Rosedale, Toronto, probably won't be the first neighborhood you look at. Many people are already overwhelmed at the prospect of owning a home of their own, so why own a huge one that needs all that more maintenance? There are many more reasonable neighborhoods worth looking at.

Some people consider location to be most important, and like to be close to a major highway or road, like Bayview. Eglinton houses right off of the main Bayview stretch are gorgeous. Many families find affordable living in this type of area. They love the beautiful homes, along with the friendly neighborhoods.

The same goes for the Davisville, or Moore Park Toronto real estate areas. In these areas there is real estate that varies from townhouses, to bungalows, to larger 2 or 3 story homes. You can find your own niche in and around these areas, depending on what your personal tastes are.

Leslieville homes are definitely going to be more costly than homes in the overall greater Toronto area. As we mentioned, location can be high on people's list of priorities. That being said, it can also be nice to get a lot more from your down payment. If you're looking to live large but can't imagine dealing with downtown living costs, check out areas surrounding the city.

Don't feel discouraged if you see a community with an official sounding name like Armour Heights. These suburbs are often merely trying to nurture either a professional or family oriented community. Make sure to look into what kind of area you're moving into before you make any major decisions. If you'd like your kids to be able to play in the backyard and have friends near by, you wouldn't want to move in, only to realize you're surrounded by businessmen and socialites. Do some neighborhood research before you even look seriously.

Whether it's a big fancy dream home you want, or a quaint bungalow to call your own, Toronto will have the real estate you're looking for. There are so many neighborhoods to choose from, you may find yourself shopping around for the right Realtor before you even start shopping for the house. With enough research, dedication and patience, anyone could find their perfect home in Toronto.
